Owen earned his B.A. in Music: Technology and the Recording Arts from UMBC. During and immediately after college, he was a woodworker making custom hardwood furniture and built-in wood installations around the Baltimore/ D.C. metro area. To tamp the risk of losing a finger on the job, Owen transitioned to full-time music performance and audio post-production. He performed in as many as 5 ensembles at one time while moonlighting for Studio Unknown, contract AV technician work. He ultimately contracted as A2 at Discovery Channel, National Geographic, advertising work, and a range of theatre and music ensembles.
Owen worked at Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health in media and communications supporting Public Health content production and post-production prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Owen supported the rapid establishment of standing up a daily podcast series, Public Health On Call (Apple Podcasts verified as a trusted source for reporting on the COVID-19 global pandemic). Public Health On Call interviewed researchers, doctors, and government and Public Health officials working to combat the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) caused by COVID-19, vaccine messaging clarity, and public health mis and disinformation.
Owen enrolled to the Peabody Conservatory Masters of Arts in Acoustic Sciences but has since left the program.
Owen works at T. Rowe Price in Marketing as a Senior Podcast Producer, Assistant Vice President supporting retirement messaging, investment sector insights, and and product marketing content.
